You can't give a "free" star upgrade to anybody, but you can donate in somebody's name (not free) and they get a star upgrade.

Stars are aquired by Purchasing FG or Donating to the site

Begging for any real/virtual goods is also not allowed... Sorry :(

Anyways, You could have someone donate for you as jaypee stated , And request you get the star upgrade.
