when i try to open it tells me unhandled exception
what do i do

i think it may be the resolution of my screen.
cause i put it into windowed mode and it works.

Usually those & exception "Critical Exception 25" errors are associacted with a Direct X issue

Open your D2 folder & look for "Vidtest.exe"

Run the vidtest & Set it to "DirectDraw"... Normally resolves these problems

type of windows are you using.

my d2 never runs on vista tried for years
only works in windows

If you are using the parameter -ns, remove it.
