So I'm borrowing this laptop atm because my pc broke down. I wanted to play a few games on it and I installed Starcraft 2 and it worked fine on it with all settings set to low.

Now the problem is that I want to play CS 1.6 to but I'm having a few problems here. My fps goes from 20-100 all the time and it is quite annoying. Can someone help me out here ?

I think it's the graphic card.
But what is exactly your problem?
Since a human eye can't even see more as 100 frames per second.
I played with 100 fps aswell?

Well the thing is that I can run Starcraft 2 smoothly on this computer but in Counter-Strike it lags big time
With my old one I couldn't run Starcraft 2 at all, my pc froze in the menu because of the lag but in Counter-Strike I had 99 fps without any problems.

The eye doesn't see in fps, but a constant flow of infomation.
Does your tv "lag", for example? Exactly.

The laptop should run Cs just fine.

Updated gfx drivers?
Run Windows Update and accept all of them except for drivers.

The fps have nothing to do with lag.
If you got a really low fps maybe the others see you "lagging".
But anyways, check please that you've updated your graphic drivers.
Maybe you just got a internet problem?
Checked your connection?

I am aware of that moneh but I can say that I'm lagging instead just to make it clearer.

Joker, I will try and reinstall later today to see if it helps.

Exlusiv, I updated my drivers not long ago but I'll check if there are new ones just to be on the safe side. My internet is not the issue, I have a really good fiber connection.

Lag means you've got poor fps and/or bad internet connection, and you would skip frames and/or do the same frame multiple times.
