If I open a new thread to sell something, and the trade is done - do I have to mark the thread as "closed" or "done" or something?

After 4 hours [as a bump] you can post "closed" or "sold" or something.

Just let the topic die. There is no need to bump it up to the top 50 again after the transaction has been completed

This is not true.
After the trade is done you dont have to post in the topic any more and it will "die" alone.
