Last month in this thread ( http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=54500863&f=34 ) It was made very clear that Diablo related questions CAN be asked here without being immediately closed or spammed with the "Post d2 questions here ..." responses. See posts #6 and #7 to sum up the thread.

Yet I still see that any questions regarding diablo2 are still quickly closed and no help given. For example the "Necro Sum Question" thread that is still in here on the front page.

I'm confused. Are they or are they not allowed here?

General D2 questions are allowed to be asked in GH and are not supposed to be closed, however questions regarding builds or other in depth questions belong in Discussion and Guides.

Well lots of people go ahead and answer them since they are already here.

However, you are supposed to post them in the Discussion and Guides forum.

Questions regarding connection and things outside D2 but about it can be posted here.

GH: Easy basic questions about D2 allowed.
D&G: Complex d2 questions

But that seems like a very fine line and comes down to what that specific Mod would consider "in depth" before choosing to close the thread. And it's not the complex, in depth questions that I'm most concerned about. It's the simple yes/no questions that get closed and told to post elsewhere that I don't understand. Why are threads made here about problems with graphics cards etc not redirected to the Computer Discussions forums? Why are threads asking how to resize a sig not redirected to the Graphic Design forums? And so on.

It's like if I found a very nice item on D2 that happened to have a level 30 requirement and posted it for sale on the East Softcore trading grounds. Then my thread was closed and I was told to only post it in the LLD trading forum because it's level 30. That makes no sense and wouldn't happen.



Some people do provide answers, I'll give you that. But unfortunately it's very rare to get anything other than "post D2 questions here..." responses and it frustrates me to see them shunned when a simple answer could be given in the same amount of time



I wouldn't consider FCR breakpoints to be a complex question when one can copy/paste numbers from a FCR table Complex to me would be "what is the total damage per second when using 3 sources of poison damage with different per second amounts?" But I understand where you and Qry are coming from and I agree. I think Hedonism was right in saying that most of the regulars that frequent this forum are just misinformed =/

It kind of feels like I'm getting the same type of generic responses here. Shouldn't D2 questions simply be treated like any other? I mean this is "General" Help right? If someone is knowledgeable on the subject they should offer their advice or answer; if they are not then simply leave the thread and let someone else who is respond. It's almost like people see a Diablo related question and rush to be the first to post that generic copy/pasta response like they get a cookie for it instead of trying to be helpful.
