So I was going to format my pc and I'm just saving some stuff I don't want to get rid of. It's an 11Gb file that just wont transfer, I have more then 200Gb free space on my external drive but even so when I try to transfer it says that I don't have enough space left and I should delete some files.

Any kind of help would be nice. Thanks

Do you use the FAT32 file system on your external drive? Sounds like you do.
The file-size limit on FAT32 is (2^32)-1 bytes, or one byte less than a full 4GB.
Convert your external drive to use NTFS and the problem should be solved. ;)

Is there any good guide for me to do this ? And if I do this, will all my files be deleted from my harddrive ?

No, your files will stay. The exact steps vary a bit, what Windows version do you use?
Either google for it or directly search on http://support.microsoft.com for a specific guide.
