i downloaded diablo 2 and LoD via the blizzard site.

i tried to log onto battlenet and i get "battle.net is unable to properly identify your application version."

so i went onto the blizzard site and downloaded LoD patch 1.13

ran it, installed, the game opened on its own in full screen and i logged on just fine.

i then closed it and reopened in windows mode, and i get the same error message.

i tried to open it straight from the file in normal mode and the error message still remains.

i tried to reinstall the patch and it simply says its already up to date (along those lines).


anyone have any knowledge on this issue?
