Hey all,

I'm trying to figure out what windows I should buy! I'm running a late 2009 macbook pro running osx 10.5.8, NOT snow leopard.

The mac site is confusing me, from what I can gather from the FAQ is that Windows 7 requires snow leopard 10.6.x, which I don't have.

However, at that point it gets hazy as to whether I can get vista on bootcamp; am I screwed because I don't have snow leopard, or will I be fine?

Neither of those subforums are even relevant. Don't just post anything on every help thread, it won't help you get a trusted tag any faster.

OP: I wouldn't use vista. If I were you, I'd either upgrade to snow leopard and get win7, or use windows xp. Vista is the most awful operating system ever created.
If you already have a copy of vista though and you want to use it anyway, then try and see if it works - you might as well give it a go. Worst case scenario you won't be able to install it.

And you're right, prog heaven seems more geared towards HARDware not the software aspect.
