Depends on your connection speed (your modem). If you have shity speed there, you won't increase it with a better routeur.

What's your actual routeur? What's your actual internet speed? (in theory).

No, it will not speed up your internet.

well basic charter from 2 mb/s I guess. What is the # or the name of your routeur (not only the brand). With a 'G' you should be fine with that basic charter I think. If you get a better connection (with your internet provider), changing routeur might help, but not atm. Your connection is too slow at begining, routeur only "split" it.

Depends on router speed, each computers network card speed, and the ISP internet speed.

The B, G, Or N rating has nothing to do with the speed of the router.

Unless you're on wireless. Then it has everything to do with the speed.

Buying a better router could provide you with better range on your WiFi as well, OP. I'd suggest investing in a good one if you use WiFi a lot.

just unplug the router and direct connect your computer. have family spend 5 hours on customer support and when ur done plug it back in.
