I realize those aren't for vista but the fixes might work anyway, like I said worth a try.

A lot of Microsoft MVPs post there ^.^ I'm active in Windows XP but a lot are active in vista section and are super helpful regarding Windows problems.

Re-enabling UAC didn't work, unfortunately.
The first two links mention a problem that's different to mine too.
I'll have a look on the MS Technet forum, though. Thanks for trying.

You can change the compatability settings of a program, which I have done (and do usually for old games), but the problem is that it won't run. I don't think changing the screen color of the actual PC would work, but I'd try it if you could tell me how.
