might be bad RAM also since you had a BSoD with those errors, so if its that, reformating won't help
there are some programs that can check that (Memtest86+)

just reformated
everything seems fine so far

I had an issue with a clients laptop doing the same thing after a nasty virus got a hold of it. I was lucky enough to find a restore point available before the issue started to happen. n the future you may want to consider trying that before a reformat although a reformat is never a bad things just a long processes.
