yep, pretty much proving that norton has zero advantages when we look to free antiviruses.

and the computer store recommended norton because OEM manufactors have deals with OEM antivirus suppliers like norton. they recommend norton, someone buys norton from them, they get $

my computer works fine also, and avast isn't slowing down computer as much as norton does. I used to have norton, don't have it anymore since it isn't any better than normal antivirus, unless you really use those parental control & site filters which it offers extra

it proves didley squat... the fact that i haven't had any virusses that messed up my pc proves that it works...

it's all about preferences anyway... don't understand why you are bashing norton like this

and to con your statement about no advantages to free antivirusses: my friend had a free antivirus that detected one of the key programs that runs his pc as a virus and totally messed it up.. even more than a virus could actually mess up his pc

me either, and I can tell I do a lot illegal stuff with my computer & get around 100 viruses every year.

norton is everything but good - it costs, it's slow, scan is slow, cannot perform anything to locked files which are running, cannot detect private troijans. most of free antiviruses don't detect private troijans but at least they aren't slow ones

and to that your last comment - we all know mcafee messed up millions of computers with it's false positivie update (detecting svchost.exe as troijan). it was exception which hasn't ever happened before. if 1 free antivirus provider messes up once, are all crap then?

I can feel the irony on this post but I still haven't got any proves why norton is better than avast

I have a long list why avast is better and can't find anything that's better on norton.
