Try local churches and religious gatherings (bible study etc)

I bet more than a few of those folks would try to help you in one way or another.

Since you are online I would hit your social networking site up for help from friends, family, friends of family etc.

If all else fails there should be a soup kitchen or shelter not too far from you.

It can always be worse count your blessings it is summer.
