If you unactivate your antivirus/firewall? Do some scannings also (ex : malware bytes, and cleaning registry (Ccleaner)). Is it only lagging in diablo II or other games (if you play any other). Do you have more then 1 computer? Are the other ones also lagging?

I've tried disabling everything. Nothing running except d2.

Virus scan malware scan registry cleaning all done.

Other games and programs are running smoothly and fine.

My desktop runs it fine (aside from horrid crashing problems inherent in the computer itself.

I play on my laptop and thus can change locations and wifi signals, problem persists.

I have reinstalled d2 and repatched, removed reinstalled and upgraded all drivers and devices and associated registry files.

I have run a disk cleanup and a scan disk, now I'm the process of doing a defrag (though one was run like 4 days ago automatically).

I am seriously at a loss as to what in the bloody hell the problem is....

Maybe there is a rootkit, try tdsskiller (it runs quick). Does diablo lag when NOT online also?
