In the original post you asked how to get the three gray starts, that's a confidential amount.
To get one gray star you can donate $5, donating $10 gets you the dark gray star.

I think his confusion was that he thought maybe the 5-9.99 price was per star so you could by three gray stars at 5-9.99 per star...
