Do you play Diablo 2 in window mode? You can do this by attaching the parameter -w:
Right click on the shortcut Target add -w (don't forget the space in front)

Edit: To be clear: The window mode often helps to solve the issue.

i only play d2 in full screen mode more better and fun doing it in shrink mode is weird
