This will help a select few who, no matter what they do cannot get rid of Unhandled Exception: (c0000005)
and have access to more than 1 computer.

This applies to single player only.

Copy your single player files to a USB drive from the Diablo folder found here Program files>Diablo II>Save

Save the files to same area you copied it from on a computer that does not receive the error and has Diablo II installed.

Load the game and select your character and proceed to Act II,III,IV, or V

Re-save the same single player file and put it on the computer that gives the error.

This way when you load your character you will be able to be in the desired act.

Some computers (I have one) won't get rid of the error no matter what is tried.

This will work for most people as long as you have access to another PC

I hope this helps some of you single players out there who can't fix Unhandled Exception: (c0000005)

This does not apply to Multiplayer for a few reasons.

1. It is almost always (-ns) that causes the error online.

2.The server will save your progress even though you error out so a simple re-loading of the program will get you to the next act.

Unlike multiplayer the error on single player prevents the game from being able to be saved. Making act progression impossible.
