Well, it seems like the majority feel that asking for a loan is a form of begging; therefore, I feel that the rules should be edited to specifically say that it is a form of begging. It seems unfair that someone would get suspended or possibly warned for asking for a loan when nothing in the rules says anything against it specifically. They only get the message that specifically says it's against the rules AFTER they have been suspended or warned. You can't just assume that everybody considers a loan as a form of begging. Also, I found it rude that goldie said I would resort to begging if my loan request wasn't met, because it seems like a way for him to justify his actions against me without even noticing the real reason for this topic.

Actually I see people sell in game gold all the time.

It doesn't matter how low the value is of something.

Begging for anything is begging, period.

so you think scamming is a funny subject?
why would i make a 50-250 fg scam when i can do jobs that take a week and pay off 3k-8k+ fg?
i never asked for shit to have for free. i said i needed cash at the moment, and i would repay with 40% interest. you kids need to read before you post.
i have multipul friends that have bills of rsgp (several of them have much more than 100k fg worth of rsgp); however, it was late at night and none of my friends were online.

i have never seen requesting a loan as a form of begging, but i guess it's an opinionated subject. that's why i want it clarified in the rules. and you are 100% right, the value of something doesn't matter - begging is begging; however, i didnt even consider my request as a begging thread

i have seen REAL begging threads in the runescape section that last for hours upon hours.. some for weeks.. kids that literally say, "IM IN NEED OF CASH, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE DONATE I JUST LOST EVERYTHING I JUST GOT HACKED PLEASE OH PLEASE I WANNA BUY THIS ITEM"

Asking for a loan is begging because you are asking for gold to be sent to you. The interpretations of rule breaking is completely up to the mods.

The Runescape forum isn't the most popular forum on the site so it doesn't get a lot of mod attention. If you see a begging thread simply report it and if you see multiple by the same person gather the links and PM them to a Trade Moderator if it is in the trading sub-forum and Junior Moderator if it is just in the Runescape forum.

if i gathered all the begging threads made by 1 person, the mod would see a novel of links and would probably ignore it.

and yes, the interpretation of the rules are up to the mod, but if it isnt specifically and clearly shown to the public is it really fair? there are real life court cases about subjects similar to this, and i thought that this would make a good argument.

e/ basically what i'm looking for is something simple to come out of this: an edit in the D2JSP site rules to specifically state what isnt allowed (instead of just saying etc.), because you can't just assume that everybody will interpret everything the same.

The moderators would definitely not ignore it if you are reporting multiple legitimate rule breaking topics.

So are you saying your friend reported you when you asked him for a loan privately?

no, i made a thread asking for a loan after reviewing the rules. i saw nothing against asking for loans, and i do not believe requesting a loan is a form of begging.

it got closed within a minute after the thread was posted, and i was immediately suspended.

i reviewed the rules again after my suspension ended, and found nothing saying requesting a loan was against the rules anywhere EXCEPT in the suspension notice.

i just feel people deserve a proper warning in the rules before they get suspended/warned for something they did not know was against the site rules.

Then if you feel you have a case for your unfair suspension, kindly PM hapycmpr.
