Not sure if you have this option on I pods but is your background data turned off?
I know that on my tablet, i'm unable to access the app store if my background data is off.

It allows applications to send and receive information at anytime.
If you have it, it should be in your settings, and possibly your application / syn tab?

Hmm, try clearing your cache. Go to settings, safari, and scroll down.
After doing that, disconnect from the network and try again.

Oh boy.

It's possible that you might be connected to the WiFi Network but not the internet. Is the internet working on your iPod on other things, like the Safari Browser? Go to the Wifi settings - then select 'forget this network'. Then reconnect and see if that sorts it out.

Eh, but you said that your bro can get on. It would have to be some setting / connection issue on your end, It would appear anyways.

Try reseting your iPod. Hold down the home and power button until the screen goes black and the apple logo appears (you won't lose any data). Also, it might be worth unplugging your router for a bit, plug it back in, and wait a minute before attempting to log into the app store, to see if that fixes the connection issue.

Check for a static IP via your Wireless settings in the ipod as well.
