So, my C:\ is 156GB and my D:\ is 256GB

Anything wrong? Cause I guess D: is for data and C: is for own usage am i right?

HD is hard drive. I don't see where there would be a problem.

cause usually windows 7 takes like 20 gigs not 256 or i'm maybe wrong? It's a laptop btw.
Is the D:\ for the os or for own usage?

Are the numbers u posted the amount of space used on the HD'd or there capacity?

first is 156gb
second is 256

first is almost full
second is empty (from what it says)
all i wanna know is if i can use the second one for own usage or if it's my OS one like on most of desktops

Ok, I'm not a PC expert... But if I remember correctly

C: = ur OS,Drivers, programs

D: = data storage (Music,Pics,Video's, etc)

Do not do anything to your D drive unless you know what you are doing, because your D drive has important system data and your machine's re install information in case you need to reset your machine to its factory conditions. Your C drive is where most of your installed programs will be located that you regularly use. Small, but very important files that are required for your machine to run will be located in your D drive if it is a system partition created by the manufacturer. It doesn't matter, the letters are arbitrary; you can change them at will. If you want, you can repartition them to suit your tastes.
You can use either for anything, as long as you don't modify any system files.

before helping u should all read what im asking

i have nothing about my OS in my files, I have an EMPTY D; DRIVE
Is that hidden or anything or is it free?
