Dropped it in the river yesterday while camping, it wasn't super wet cause i had my wallet and iphone wrapped together in 2 socks, came home and put it in rice (a few hours later)

First it was working fine right after I dropped it, then it shut off (could have been because of low battery) then got home, put it on the charger while in the rice and it turned on

everything worked fine except for the home button, so I just left it in the rice

Then it said to plug into itunes, but i didnt

now the screen almost looks like a gradient, lighter at the top and gets progressively darker as it moves down, left to right colors are yellow red yellow..

I can unlock my phone and shut it off and turn it on, just nothing displays on the screen (I guess where I'm touching)

Any way to fix this?

Im not sure if this works with iphone but works with some. Put it in freezer and let it freeze. Ice="dry"

After that, melt it in somewhere slowely. So it will dry. No damage done to phone.
But like i said, this has work with some phones and im not sure about iphones. :)

Let it rest in a bowl of rice for a couple of days.

Don't try to start it up.

That's a nice way to destroy the components. Ice expands.

@OP, did you take it apart when you put it in the rice?
