Yesterday my brother pm's a d2 account name to his friend which so happened to have a d2 site name in it. What a coincidence and he gets suspended for 24 hours.
Today he was about to post a screenshot but only did preview edit from a pic that was on a d2 site. He's been posting these links since he started jsp to help people know what particular items are. He tries to help people out and gets punished for it by a suspension does this seem fair?

Keep in mind all jsp users you must learn the d2 sites so you can prevent these bans. Do you think jsp even notifies updates like these or even changes it in the rules. If jsp can have a system like this then they sure can have a program or something with one click to send out notifications to all active jsp members. C'mon think about it.

If my brother knew that would get him suspended do you think he would have done it? I don't think so!

We should be provided with all these keywords so we know not to use them also even if changes to rules were made etc. How often does a regular jsp member check the rules for changes?

He shouldn't be linking outside item sites at all. Its a word filter because those things should not be discussed. This prevents illegal trades

It is the reponsability of every member to Read, Understand & Obey all d2jsp Site rules to avoid violating them

Linking outside sites that are not expressly authorized by a member of the d2jsp Staff is not allowed & the system is designed to prevent those violations from occuring

And if this was done, people would find ways around those word filters thus manipulating the system. The 'keywords' aren't told to anyone for that reason.

The point is jsp does not notify members. How much you want to bet that 90% of jsp members do not know this. My brother is a 2007 and has almost 4 years on this site in August and is one of the most active members on this site. This thing is new he has been doing this for years he has over 70k posts which over 80% of them is from bumping his trade topics every 4 hours. He says he just posted a similar link just 2 weeks ago and there was no suspension. Also to him getting screenshots from d2 sites is the easiest to find even better than google. Like I said he's done it for years if jsp properly informed people and said you can't do this he simply wouldn't have done it.

There's ways around everything but still not the point. If you aren't informed what exactly you can or cannot post you can get suspended everyday

The Word filter has been around since I joined this site

What the filter is designed to identify is not & should not be told

It would defeat the purpose it was designed for ( to prevent illegal trades/ site rule violations from occuring via PM) as ppl will find ways to mask/avoid the designated filter words to complete said illegal trades/violations

If the site or word is on a restricted word list then there is no debate here. Do not use it.

As far as "what u can/cannot post" it is can be found in the Forum & Trade rules

Follow the rules & u will not have to worry about violating them

The filter has been around for sometime like if you posted crush in a topic title your topic would be auto closed.(The auto system not filter system started with early bumps if you bumped your topic more than 2 times meaning early ones your topic gets auto closed) The thing is they expand it on a daily basis. It first started when people were trying to pm fake gold pm's like they sent forum gold when they didn't. If people did that they get 24 our suspension. As time went on they added stuff to the trading grounds w/o telling anyone. You have to actually experience it to know not to do it which is stupid.

No one needs to to explain then rules I know them and I know there's unwritten rules and rules that like to be added as time goes along.

I mean my brother has 4 years on jsp and I would say for at least 3 of those years he pulled 12+ hours a day here.
