If you click "Tools/options/General"

Can you change the page that way to what you like?

Did you recently install any add-ons? Some cause this problem.

Before you delete any add-ons, run Firefox in safe mod. To do this, go to Start --> Run --> C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -safe-mode (type in your path if it's different)
Does it work properly now?

Actually a popup should show up when starting Firefox in safe-mode. That popup also asks whether to start Firefox with add-ons or without.

However, you can delete add-ons by clicking on Tools --> Add-ons
