so im on my other computer and my older one is completly freaking out. just turned it on ( had it off b/c of a bad storm) and i now all of the sudden have a program called AntiVir which i have never heard of... and i have always used AVG. i need to get rid of this program but the catch is... every time i try to open avg the new crap says that its infected and i cant open it. says the same thing with taskmanager, ctrl pannel and add/ remove programs, and system restore. also any program that i try to run. also a pop up comes up every three seconds saying that i dont have a anti virus protector (which i indeed do) and that i need to buy this shit now. Wall of Text but ne ways how do i get rid of this. i have avg scheduled to run auto detect next wednesday but i dont want to wait that long.

If it's the same boot up as my computer, try hitting f8 as your computer is booting up and find "start up as last successful start" or something.
That fixed my virus last time.

Download antivirus tools on another pc and put them on a jump drive or cd, I'd use avg or spybot, or both.

No, safe mode is a whole different way to boot up.
You can boot up in regular, safe mode, or some other mode.
What system do you use?
Windows something, Mac?
