Ddo is set up on the basis of dungeon and dragons 3.5 ed. so many long time ad&d players are drawn to the game. but aside from that, it has a simple to learn interface, that can be tweaked as you get more use to it. as well it is more skill based than most mmos out there.
alot of mmos opt for even playing field when it comes to character design. and focus mainly on gear. witch in some game, like our common game here diablo 2 can be extremely hard to get for the relay good pieces of gear.
witch ddo gear dose not matter so much, or is fairly easy to obtain, (a few runs in this level 4 quest and u can have one of the best ooze beating weapons in the game.)
my point is it is skill based even with out the best gear its how you design your character and it is how you play said character that makes you good. retards need not apply.
