Barbarians are naturally one of the best 'survivable' classes in the game with a pocket healer.
Without someone to push your red bar, you'll focus on potions, specifically favor potions that heal for 250(which equates to 500-750 with healing amp)
(h)Power Attack
(1)Cleave
(3)Greater Cleave
(6)Toughness
(9)Improved Crit
(12)THF
(15)iTHF
(18)gTHF
(21)Overcrit
(24)Epic toughness
Stunning blow is a strong, end game feat that separates shitty barbarians from strong barbarians. That said, you won't be able to make use of it until you get all of the gear you need. Despite this, you could drop toughness early on for stunning blow, then switch it out later as you find(and you will) that it's becoming less effective.
Healing will initially be entirely cure serious pots. It will then be followed by hirelings/human players babysitting you(not that big of a deal, a good barb+healbot clears better than two self healing classes). Once you get your silver flame pots you'll find you can stay up pretty much indefinitely, though it will drain your bank. Hirelings are a cheaper alternative, but honestly mixing the two is the best way to go.
100% agree but now with addition of sp from past lives and SP gear you can get a decent sp and use rejuvs for free + silver flame pots and hire you will stay up 100% with nice dps mix in 2 rogue for a lil evasion and maybe some trapping is nice ( rejuv while not raging and pot while raging )
