what is the tradable thing here and are services being provided at a cost?

The game is changing a lot so probably not many levelling services with stable prices. I've seen a few, but with class changes, who knows.

Sometimes people of the same server can trade platinum on the marketplace for crazy sums but this isnt a very good way of doing things as a LOT of the value is lost.

Basically, there is none. Services are way overpriced because there is no competition.

Why do you need competition when players can use a credit card?

The game is designed in a way that makes it extremely difficult to conduct 3rd party trades. so JSP isn't that useful here.
