Unfortunately as soon as you download the game, you are giving them money with a personal profile of you worth anything from $5 to $60+++, potentially sold several times multiplying this. Information is the most valuable commodity nowadays. You are not free to play, you are the product and you are offering yourself as this.
What's really happening though, is you are the yard stick in which the $1000 (or more) player can measure themself against. I sure as hell feel superior to everyone when I'm playing my full golden decks in hearthstone classic, but even this is vastly different, while being the same concept. Those golden decks cost me no more than a few hundred euros and I'll never need to spend any more.
You are the fodder, or the thing that makes p2w worth it. I've no concept of how you can find this enjoyable with no chance of being a real player at any point, no real chance to enjoy the game.
Is there some kind of f2p exclusive thing you can be a part of? Other than reddit and d2jsp threads? In OSRS it's literally a different game, now that's pretty cool other than the amount of bs involved in that I wont mention, but its respectable. Are you literally just killing a boss when you go to the loo?
well sure its true that doing stuff on the internet gives your information away unwillingly. There's no advertisements within the game though so this is no different than.. anything else on the internet.
Yes this is how mobile games operate. Whales would not whale if they didn't get a sense of superiority over the free players. What's wrong with this? As a low paying player (~20 dollars, plan to pay around 20 a month if I like and keep playing the game) I really don't care that people are stronger than me.
By "real player" you are referring to being a competitive player vying for #1 with yourself or your guild? I hate to inform you that 99% of players and people in general have other priorities in life they focus on. This is just a fun casual game. We can enjoy the game without going nolife mode, and it drains your phone battery...
Well this game you get much much more than f2p OSRS, like I said paying money doesn't even get you much in this game.
No one cares if the people you play and talk with pay, who pays more and who doesn't. Just see people as people just like real life bud. And yes you can take this game with you when you use the Porcelain Throne which is fantastic
