The game does not force you to play BG. Theres about 99% remaining content that doesnt involve fighting another person. Hate to say it too, 90% of those whales ARE the daddy. (Well, tbh, they're prob a 40 year old virgin living with mommy still because if you got 50k to spend like this, you have 0 responsibilities OR your priorities are really REALLY off)

I can say with confidence I have more time into D2 than you. Prob 2x so. I tried to come back not long ago. It isn't what it used to be.

The game can be played for free. If you cant play it without the idea that you MUST pay for it, than it sounds like you have personal problems with your impulse control. You can choose to play D2 from start to finish without buying any gear off d2jsp. The second you buy that enigma, you are effectively "paying to win". You've been "paying to win" the moment you joined these forums and bought your first item. "But its fg. That's not money." Been over this 10 times and I won't bother because you're like the pro-vacc community. NOTHING is correct but how you perceive it and what you say, goes. There are more people here than you that come to realize, the game is pay to play by option and choice. Not by force.
The true issue you guys have is you cant use your fg to trade for anything and RWT is now not an option for you. You can still buy b.net balance with fg but is that still too steep for your pockets? Get a job and money wouldnt be a problem for you.

The problem isn't really about playing for free, it's about an unfair advantage someone has over you, solely because they have more $. You already know that, which leads me to believe we just don't see eye to eye

It's fine, everyone has their own opinion and views. I just don't think this kind of design is beneficial. Other games can function just fine with a cosmetic shop, there's really no need to go full whale mode with it.

Let's gear up on D2. You spend 157fg (money) and I'll spend 20k (money, again). Would I be effectively "p2w with an advantage"? You've played d2. How fun is it to duel those decked out Nader druids. 3/20/20 barbs. 50k necro builds. Why aren't those bothering you? To say you can't relate tells me you never played D2. Think those guys built those duelers from sheer finds? Hah! They did nothing short of "p2w". Whether you paid with fg, paid with a credit card from a black market site, or whatever. SAME THING. The real problem is noone can drop their 400k fg straight into being good. The reality is these life long d2jsp nerds with 400k fg realize their fg is worth a whopping $3,500 in DI which in all honesty, is nothing. They felt high and mighty with their fg but honestly 3 grand is nothing. Than to top it, they cant milk the game for that sweet sweet rwt market. That got these kiddos BIG MAD. You don't even realize that you contradict yourself. You're just jumping on the bandwagon with these nerds crying.

You're not wrong, there is a difference. It's just that doesn't make D2 inherently P2W.

Also, I could mf and sell stuff for FG, then use that FG in the beginning of a new ladder but never spent a dime. FG acts as an equilibrium

Hell, you could argue it acts as a way to curb P2W and allow the people who have no money or don't believe in P2W, to catch up.
