What are the winning conditions in Diablo Immortal? Its not a game where you simply "beat the game".
Also, your telling me you expect a company to make a free game, and them to provide everything in the game for free as well? Do, where then do they make the money to pay the team in charge of creating and maintaining the game? You seem, like others, to be missing rhe point. It IS possible to play the game without making a single purchase. There is NO content in the game that cannot be played workout making a purchase.
People just want something to complain about.
Same with D4. Games not even out yet and people are saying it sucks because they all want to be on the bandwagon and have something to whine about.
You all should get together and make a better game thats completely F2P. Lmk when its done, I would love to try it out 😁
By winning I don't mean literally beating the game. Winning can be many things like topping a leader board, becoming richer than other people (in-game richer like high runes in Diablo 2 for example) and achieving certain achievements that require time and skill. It comes in many forms. If you're just slashing away at some mobs just for the fun of it... well, sorry, but that to me is just dumb, not sure who would enjoy that, especially for an extensive period of time. And once a game's main monetization strategy is to lock away all the "winning aspects" behind a paywall. Well, that game is not worth a damn to anyone who has at least 2 brain cells in their head. I'm not saying the game should be free. Of course, every game is a business before everything else, and there are plenty of ways to monetize a game without all this pay-to-win, paywall crap. There are monthly subscriptions, premium skins, quality of life features... the list goes on. I'm even ok if there is pay-to-progress faster as long as you can have the chance to reasonably compete against someone who doesn't have the time to grind out the game and choose the pay-to-progress option. There are plenty of ways and plenty of games that have proven that they can be very profitable without all of this predatory crap! But when a game is crap even without the monetization aspect, and then you add all the predatory money-grabbing crap on top of this mediocre game, you get shit like Diablo Immortal. I bet the people that worked on Diablo 2 Classic and LoD are very 'proud' of what the Diablo name and Blizzard, in general, have been turned into and the kind of people that are the fan base compared to 20 years ago...
So you can go on arguing and defending this piece of crap company and game. I don't really care. But hopefully, one day, the masses won't be made of people who think like you and the real gamers will have an impact, and our opinion will be valued by those companies because at the moment, there are only a hand full of companies that actually create quality stuff and monetize it fairly and if more gamers start thinking like you, those few companies will eventually turn in to none...
Just an example because I can see that you are clearly struggling to put all of this information together in your head. You can spend $25 per fucking rift in Immortal... and that barely gives you anything! GTA 5 is a AAA game that took 6 or 7 years to develop and cost around $300,000,000 to make and is considered one of the best games to this date! That game cost 60$ on release (and yes I know you can pay with $ and buy some stuff in the online version of the game, but even the offline version, where it involves no microtransactions, is worth every penny of those $60). And these examples can go on all day long! I can't even begin to understand what fucked up process happens in your melon to make you justify any of this. This post was edited by cabalplayer on Jun 15 2022 01:04pm
