To be fair though, the revenue model of a mobile game and paid/subscription based PC & console game is completely different.

Yes, Diablo 4 would probably employ DLCs, season pass and a cosmetic cash shop but that's all pretty reasonable imo unless it starts affecting gameplay.

I'm going to stay open-minded about Diablo 4.

Open minded is a bad idea. They have shown with Diablo 3 Diablo 3 immortal and Diablo 3 casino edition that they are incompetent and only meant for casual players

Game developers are sick and tired of the RWT. Buying and selling of their virtual property IS against the rules. This is just a 100% way to fix that ultimate issue. Diablo will never have a open world trade system again. Might as well stick to D2R for your cash cow market.

I'm not only talking about D4. This poisonous crap has been slowly spilling into other franchises in recent years. And the more braindead people like snacha are around, the more devs would get greedy and think it's ok to bring this crap from mobile gaming in to the real gaming sector.

Until NFT Blockchain gaming takes over and greedy fucking companies like Shizzard can't compete with a game where you actually own 100% if everything that you worked hard for or paid to get. Now that I think about it. I see why you would bring up something completely irrelevant such as RMT into this conversation. As a mobile player, you obviously don't know why RMT is disliked by some PC players, so let me explain. RMT is a way to bring P2W elements into a non-P2W game with a trading system. However, the devs that remove trading from their games are not doing it because they care about P2W in their game. They don't give 2 craps about it. They do it because they don't want to lose potential profit to RMT and want to take that money for themselves instead by selling their mtx shit to the players. Not players buying it from other players.

Fixing things with destroying them is not a fix. Fixing something means to bring it back to the original state to work as intended, or back to the roots in other words, arpg is not arpg without open trading,

They should change the game name and put it in genre were it belongs without open trade. They just want to trick us for a cash grab they don't want to make great game since they could build a bot fighting team if they want to rly keep the game "fixed".

They are not tricking anyone with D3m casino edition. They make it obvious at the very start of the game that payment is required and expected to be able to play the full game. The only people trying to trick people about this are people like soul who don't want the game to die sooner than expected. Activision spent years getting their monitization right and making sure they circumvented laws with how they implemented loot boxes.
