Hey everyone, as you know Activision has put many walls in the game to make sure poor f2p losers can't progress. This is done through various caps in the game. (Side quests, purple elite bosses, random map events, and Zoltan Kule treasure rooms all stop giving rewards after you’ve completed five of each per day. Hidden Lair dungeons, stop giving gem rewards after you’ve completed a few sections of them. 6 legendary drops before drop rate reduce)

But why are they also purposely slowing down paying players? This game takes thousands of dollars to get gems which is required if you plan on getting out of copper tier. So why would Activision only allow us to buy 100$ packs at a time? It seriously takes forever to get enough currency to be able to do 10 crest rift runs for more than 30 minutes.

The begging poor f2p players get 1 eternal crest a week while paid players use 10 crests a rift. So why would Activision penalize their preferred player base?

If you ask me, blizzard didnt plan for spenders to be so massive, so they didnt take in account the time needed to buy the crests

Are you kidding me? You don't think blizzard expected there to be whales? This game was made by netease which is extremely familiar with making gacha games.

Of course they wouldn't put a cap on purchase able items

Imo they planned every bit of it with Immortal, game developers of any caliber nowadays have shifted their focus on maxing their return on investments and will do anything to maximize their profits vs time spent on developing a game.

Even other RPG developer giants like Square Enix and Konami have shifted their focus in making mobile games with gacha features because strategically from a business standpoint it's no longer worth spending years and years to develop a game when you can make a low-grade mobile game to sell gambling mechanics to kids and make just as much profit in a couple months time.

Another conscience vs business discussion, it's just the sad reality of the gaming market nowadays.

Inevitably laws will come in to block this type of behavior. Activision I’m sure spent a good bit of time and money getting around the loot box mechanic ban by adding a “skill based” rift instead of a summoning animation.

I can’t imagine mobile game gambling will be a thing in 10 years.

The thing with law is that it's varies country by country and for some countries it varies state by state, games of this nature are hardly regualted in Asian countries where most of them are developed or outsourced so for every law that is errected to regulate games like these they'll always find a work-around or a gray area.
