The game is free, allowing you to choose precisely how much $ you spend on the game is a good thing

To clarify I do think that these games are predatory by nature.
Saying it's a free game and you don't have to spend money is fine but at the end of the day all of their tactics are designed specificily to sink money out of you over and over.
And making it so that if you want to actually be competitive in the game or reach higher tiers that you have to invest money.
PVP has shown that on unreasonably noticable scale in this game. You cannot compete against players who are investing loads of money in the game.
So saying the game is free to play is like saying WoW is free to play. Sure you can play until level 20 for free but eventually if you want to play further you have to subscribe to WoW.
At least in that case you know the investment you need to be able to reach these endgame tiers, where as in Diablo Immortal's case the are speculating that $100,000 is the mark.

Granted, I thought at first people bitching about the game was quite commical consdering the fact no one gave a shit about the game when announced and it was mocked.
But in light of the backlash it seems as if the game is causing waves in the gaming community pushing to shed light on these predatory practices.
Which I think is a good thing and though I still think that it wont really matter in grand scheme of things at least the issues are publicly getting addressed.

honestly if everyone played but didnt spend a dime blizz would lose money and get the message people like their game. no 99 cent chest, no 5$ battle pass, just play the story, grind a few paragon levels then quit until a content update.
