Repetition can get boring for some. Diablo has been about grinds and repetition. Also some people pay so much and find out the "p2w" aspect isnt 110%, just because you pay, you always win. In the real world, gaming or not, someone is always better than you. People are going broke spending $5,000 only to find out someone else and ANY someone else's are better. I've seen 5k reso run around in bg and get melted and outplayed by piling f2pers. I know that has to be a serious damper in your idea of continuing to play, especially if you just spent $30,000 only to lose to people who spent $100. I'm not here to argue about that because if you played youd know. My clan is very bottom tier as players and mostly f2p but we all work together to get their h4 upgrades which can easily bump you into 4k cr and spend $0. With that boost in stat on gear and set bonuses, you can easily best a paying person who isnt geared and only sitting on his paid gems. We had a guy in our clan that bragged about his spending. Tons and tons of gems but his gear sucked because he never farmed. He sucked so bad pvp.
By what I see, you play now, so i shouldn't have to explain this to you anymore.
Anyways, all games slowly die out over certain time. The game hasn't slowed down as far as playing. Our server is bigger than ever and continues to grow. For every 1 that might quit, 10 new are playing. Of course the money they made at first was exceptionally high but most people find a stopping point, like 3k cr for the 2nd stage wings, than quit spending.
Blizzard is just trying to spike their revenue again. Every company in the entire world does this. Why is it a surprise?
From my point of view. I spent around 5k euro.
I am done with my legendary gems now.
The game is boring now.
The only aspect that hyped me, was to upgrade my gems.
But it’s fine, for me is 5k not so much but I could have used this money better.
But I don’t regret, I still play.
