Yep. Got the 3k platinum I needed to make my clan. I didn't want to be a follower. I chose to be a leader. Got a nice warband of active players (were all over paragon now) and 22 members in my clan now. Had the tea party or whatever try to absorb my clan into theirs but I rather build mine from the bottom up. I just sold off all gems I find and than I will later use the platinum for better legendary gems. All in all, still spending $0.00. Thats my choice. The game is too fun to cry over a "gem". Like come on now. The community full of weak sensitive guys who never had anything go wrong in their life and suddenly they things don't revolve around them and their world is coming to a halt. Get up, get a job, and quit crying about a $4.99 battle pass. I've spent far more, for far less on all the games I played. You gotta remember half these dudes are 30 still living with their mother, working a fast food restaurant or jobless so suddenly when a game hits mobile and there is ANY option to buy ANYTHING, they can't no life the game playing 18 hours in mommys basement without being the "best in the world". Now someone with $5 can have a VERY MINOR advantage over them, despite the no life they put into it.
Exactly, I've played a bunch of mobile games in the last 12 years on iOS and Android, and there are far more predatory companies out there that did worse than this. Glu Games and Gameloft were notoriously bad with microtransaction heavy mechanics.
There was one zombie shooting game I played where right when you would run out of bullets, the screen would pop up right where your fingers were, and you would "accidentally" tap the refill ammo button which cost premium currency. It was that many more levels of effed up. It was certainly easier to download unlimited ammo modded Android APKs from Google since they were all offline games, but it just shows the extent of what can come out of mobile gaming if you're not familiar with it.
Once you understand how the in and out economy of a mobile game works, you just have to work around it to the best of your ability and time. I certainly don't agree with Pay2Win in any instance, but this is the payment model they've been doing for 12 years. Get used to it.
