Diablo Immortal has the lowest user score for any PC game ever on Metacritic.

On iOS it currently sports a miserable 0.5 out of 10, whilst for PC, it's even lower: 0.2.

Metacritic - which pulls together the scores of both professional critics and everyday players - ranks Diablo Immortal PC's release 12451 out of 12451, making it the most unpopular PC game on record (thanks, VGC). When compared with other mobile games it fares a little better, but not much: there, it's 1903 out of 1921.

Only because the p2w aspect. But then again it’s a mobile game, like any other mobile game there is micro transactions. Imo the critic is only on the p2w and not 100% on the games. Maybe a bit on the game, because of the D3 look and graphics :)

Its a great game. The story is great compared to d3. The nostalgic characters from D2 is fitting. The mechanics and gameplay is great. MMO/ RPG systems worked well. Its just raid bombed because memes, fans, p2w, blizzard etc.

I uninstalled after 10 days because I slowly fell behind as a F2P player. Shadowclan, even our top 10 couldn't compete with p2w clans. Shadow rank, Battlegrounds, Heliquary, Farming on Hell 2, everyone who opened a wallet progressed 100x faster than a free player and before I become tempted to spend money. So I just quit instead. If they make diablo 4 MMO/RPG close to this I would be very happy with the exception being, initial purchase of the game + minor/ cosmetic microtransactions.. if anything.

It's just a game, if you quit the game because you're not the most powerful player you have other issues to deal with

You're supposed to have fun, you don't need to be #1 to have fun. #1 goes to whoever shells out the most $

Ekhm…

What’s the standard for a „great game”, these days?

It's not about being #1. Idk if this is something your saying to confuse people but it's not.

It's being competitive on the lowest level possible. You cannot compete with someone as a f2p with someone who spends money.

Yeah… I never played mobile games and I wouldn’t touch D:I with a ten-foot pole either.

But. I watched youtube reviews and how the monetization system works in this game and I have to say that it’s order of magnitude worse than I even thought was possible.

I expected to be a shop were you can buy items. That’s it. Boy, was I wrong…

I don’t know, maybe it’s typical for mobile games but… even if it is then it doesn’t change the fact how bad it is. It’s digital evil, that’s what it is. And not because you fight Diablo

Yeah this is a lot worse than other mobile games. Obviously the goal of mobile games is to lock people behind a paywall (which this game is very good at). But most mobile "games" aren't defended like this one. The monetization is acknowledges and then they start buying.

For some reason people pretent that you don't need to spend in this game. My only guess is that they consider it to be a Diablo game so they lie to help themselves. Really no idea.

It’s so intertwined together, the monetization and the game, that I cannot stop to wonder which came first. It feels like a monetization system at the core and some graphic fireworks build around it (the actual game).

I mean, I get it. Some people will just play through the campaign once or twice, not spend a dime and be happy with this experience. Good for them, for sure. If they had fun - why not?

I couldn’t because this game looks, and the skills and the classes are all soooo similar to D3… And I never liked that game either.
