curious on what dish and drink can't you be without on christmas?

For me as a scandinavian it's:

Pickled herring and akvavit

Your post made me look up pickled herring. Now I want to try it.

I don't have any favorite Christmas dish but I can tell you what I am not too fond of--turkey dinner. I love chicken but for some reason just can't drum up enthusiasm for the bigger bird.

Turkey with stuffing and egg nog with bourbon.
