So I just started being a vegetarian. Was wondering where they have a vegetarian selection in big franchise restraunts.

dont go to big franchise restaurants.
most the veggies will be canned/ frozen. terrible

find a decent spot near you that does local stuff.

Where are you located, recent chain in Ontario, Canada called Rawlicious has been popping up, I don't eat vegan, but anyone in my office that is vegan eats there and loves it

There are many houses with front lawns which I'm sure you can graze.

almost all big chains have veggie options at this point. its usually some sort of salad or baked dish. whole foods and related natural food stores with hot bars usually have some pretty decent and diverse veggie options. also indian food tends to be veggie friendly.

how "vegetarian" are you? my friend ordered a vegetarian soup at a restaurant recently, but they cooked it with some sort of fish base. meat literally makes her sick, so it was a problem. so if that applies to you, i suggest not eating anywhere unless you're sure it's safe. on the other hand if you're just into the save-the-animals hype then you should be fine.

chains are kind of iffy. i eat out a lot and if a place ever does have a vegetarian selection, it's usually very boring and not too wide a selection.

do you live near a college/university? check around those areas for small business cafes and stuff.

right down the street from my local county college there's a place called Revolutionary Lounge, they make some of the best fresh, organic dishes i've ever had. plenty of vegetarian dishes as non-veg. not really cheap, but still very good.
