so i've come to the conclusion that i'm really sick of most things that come in a box and get stuck in the microwave (like hot pockets or TV dinners) and I'm getting wayyy too broke to keep eating out, so I'm looking for ideas for meals that are either pretty quick / simple / healthy to make (one I've stumbled upon recently from a friend is the fried egg sandwich - bread, eggs, a little mayo, maybe some cheese - delicious and not that bad for you) or maybe takes a little bit to cook but can be frozen/frigerated and portioned out for the rest of the week (like spaghetti).

Y'know'sayin'?

I'm not that great of a cook but I can be a robot and follow step by step instructions :)

But yeah, if anyone has any such ideas please feel free to spew your mentality in this here topic.

chicken legs are always a great option. mix together some salt, pepper, onion, garlic, paprika, and oregano and sprinkle on top. spray with a lil olive oil spray and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes.

i follow a few youtubers, if you're interested in checking them out.

these are some of the better tasting dishes i've made, but they're more on the fancy side:

https://www.youtube.com/user/LauraVitalesKitchen/playlists
https://www.youtube.com/user/foodwishes/playlists (only professional chef on my list, also very funny)

meals usually geared more towards protein, but they're almost all very simple:

https://www.youtube.com/user/leanbodylifestyle/playlists
https://www.youtube.com/user/dhftns/playlists (he has more ingredients, but i think they taste better)

not geared towards protein, fairly simple recipes:

https://www.youtube.com/user/SimpleCookingChannel/playlists (more dessert-oriented)
https://www.youtube.com/user/OnePotChefShow/playlists

i'm not clear what you mean by healthy. do you have a particular goal? low sodium, low saturated fat, low sugar, more organic, more protein, no meat, etc?

as for breakfast, if you work at an office or somewhere you can eat at work, i suggest instant oatmeal. nuke it in the microwave a few minutes, then throw in a bit of stevia (or brown sugar if you're ok with added sugar), fruit (banana, strawberry, blueberry, etc), cinnamon, and a scoop of protein powder

for non-breakfast:
-whole wheat noodles + pasta sauce (make your own or buy jar'd) + meat of your choice.
- brown rice in the rice cooker and add some frozen mixed veggies (peas, green beans, brocoli, carrots) in the steamer, cook in broth if you're ok with higher salt. add some cooked (or canned) beans for more flavour/fiber. add some extra virgin olive oil after it's done. add meat of your choice, or eggs instead
-if you don't have a rice cooker, look into pilaf/plov. basically boil the rice with your meats/veggies
-slow cooker recipes! dhftns above has a lot of good ones. or just put your favourite condensed soup or broth with your favourite meat and veggies and turn it on. really easy and tasty. i recommend these for dinner so you can start the slow cooker in the morning and it'll be ready when you get home.
-meat loaf. foodwishes above has a "prison style meatloaf" with more breadcrumbs instead of meat if you're on a budget.
-beef stroganoff (can be cooked with slow cooker)
-lasagna (much simpler than you'd think, leaves leftovers)

lots of easy desserts that don't require a mixer. cookies, pies, cakes, muffins, some breads (eg: banana)

In order to help you about that, and following the rules "quick / simple / healthy" B) , I guess you would like to follow the sequence below:

1) Fruits -- banana + melon/papaya + apple. Put them together and add honey as you like. Done. :)
2) Salad -- I would try something like this: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/beets-with-walnuts-goat-cheese-50400000111123/
3) Simple rice + lettuce + tomato + olive oil + steak grilled chicken. Add salt as you like.

yup :)

That's actually a really good resource, thanks for that.

All ya'll other guys suck. lol jk

I really don't know why I have such an aversion to googling or watching youtube videos.. I guess it's just the frame of mind of "if someone will spoon feed it to me then why not" =/

Although that is definitely an unproductive / somewhat selfish mindset.

Ugh I guess i'll have to hop on youtube.
