Season with salt/pepper or steak spice and sear it in a really hot frying pan, then cook it in a preheated 400° oven until it's cooked to your liking (not long usually 5-10 mins).

That's the least complicated way to get a good steak going inside.

i was going to say baking a steak is blasphemy but i didnt want to sound like an asshole.

but now that others have

If you bake a steak without searing it first as suggested above all the juices will leave the steak by the time the inside is to your liking and you will have a pretty dry piece of meat. I am in no position to tell you how to enjoy your steak so if that's how you like it more power to you but that is what baking it will do without the sear.

Though not to say you shouldnt sear, it carmalizes and adds lots of flavor, just that it dosnt seal in the juice.

You're right and I should have made that more clear. What I meant was it takes longer to cook a steak inside an oven without searing it first. You are also very right about the awesome flavors that come with searing which is why I prefer a cast iron pan over a grill when it comes to steaks. :thumbsup:
