So I want to have my girlfriend and family over. I want to create a meal that will feed 8 people and win brownie points with both groups. Give me some ideas!

My girlfriend is half Korean so I'd like to do something pertaining to her slanted eye side.

Find something you like in there. or better yet, make two entrees (1 korean 1 american) and they can eat half-portion of each.

honestly though, if the family has koreans i wouldn't risk it. odds are they have their own tastes, so anything you make that they like won't taste as good. so i'd make a dish they never tried before.

and desserts usually win brownie points for being fancy.

if you want to win brownie points, perhaps you should stop referring to her family as slant eyes

if you make a traditional Korean dish, you may just end up looking like a poser. how about just being honest with yourself and them instead of trying to be something you're not?
perhaps your intentions really are honest, but it sounds like you're trying to fool these people into liking you.

my advice would be to ask your girlfriend what she thinks.

No. It was a joke. I like to cook and haven't attempted a Korean dish before. I thought it would be cool.

Going with the first guys idea. Half Merica' half korean.

Lasangna!

Take it from An Asian,
If they wanted a Korean dish, they will cook it themselves.
My family is rather arrogant when it comes to Asian food, and they are harsh critics.
I'd just go for something they dont normally cook themselves (:

Lasagna, pasta, and maybe breaded zucchini.
With a salad.

Should be enough IMO.

Well... i don't think it matter if you cooked the best dish in the world. if you're going to be a nasty pasty like that you'll end up on your ass.

I would take Kaths advice! :)

make a dish that you think is your very best or one that you and your girlfriend really enjoy.
