i went to a korean restaurant and this was one of the side dishes. anyone know what it's called and how to make the sauce? i'm guessing some kind of oil, soy sauce, and maybe sugar? tasted a bit sweet. i really like it. the potatoes were really soft.

i'm not sure what kind of potato. i dont think it was a korean sweet potato, but i could be wrong

was it also spicy? looks a bit like a thai sweet/spicy sauce.

kinda hard to tell what a sauce is from a pic, though... ;)

i'm guessing some kind of oil,

id say sesame oil.

maybe some new potatoes boiled then roasted with the sauce.

myabe some soy sauce, corn syrup, garlic, onions and alittle water for the sauce.

im not sure honestly. my taste buds arent terribly great. if it's only a little spicy i'm not gonna notice it.

i youtubed "korean potato side" and saw this:

감자 조림=GamJa JoRim

•3 Medium Sized Potatoes (2 Cups)
•½ Cup Water
•2 Tbsp Oil
•2½ Tbsp Soy Sauce
•2 Tbsp Corn Syrup
•1-1½ Tbsp Sugar
•1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
•⅛ tsp Fine Sea Salt
•½ tsp Sesame Seeds

looks pretty similar, so it might be it. this person's sauce isn't nearly as dark though.
