Not really sure why I have scrolled through more of d2jsp forums in their entirety... however, after I did, I find this phenomenal Culinary Arts forum.
I'm a gamer and have been all my life, and ever since my parents split up before high school, I had to teach myself to cook. Found an amazing beau and we've become great self taught chefs! I'm really looking forward to following this forum often.

Now to make this worth it for you.

Easy Bacon and Beer Mac and Cheese

-3 cups uncooked pasta (I used elbow)
-1 can Progresso Recipe Starters creamy three cheese cooking sauce
-1/2 cup milk
-Minced garlic & garlic powder - or just garlic powder
-Salt, Pepper, Italian Seasoning
-2 cups of shredded cheese (e.g., sharp cheddar cheese, muenster, colby jack, mozzarella. - I used a variety of cheeses & extra since the beau likes cheese)
-Bacon bits or chopped real bacon
-1/3 cup beer (rest of the can you drink :))
-4 slices of bread (ripped into 1/4-1/2" pieces
optional
-Onions, Bell Peppers, etc.

1. First heat your oven to 400°F. Spray or grease down a casserole dish. I always use my handy 8x8 unless making a larger batch.
2. In a separate bowl rip bread into small pieces, season with Italian seasoning, garlic, salt and pepper (use more or less seasoning according to taste & taste the bread crumbs once mixed)
3. Cook pasta and drain as noted on package.
4. Meanwhile, in 3-quart saucepan heat the Recipe Starters cream sauce, milk, garlic and extra seasoning to a boil. (If you are choosing to add extra seasoning that is.)
Remove from heat; stir in cheeses until melted, stir in beer. Stir in pasta, bacon, and vegetables, if you choose to use vegetables.
5. Spoon into casserole, top with Italian bread crumb mixture and bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until edges are bubbly and bread crumbs are browned.

This basic, no beer or Italian bread crumb topping recipe is actually on the Progresso Recipe Starters can!! I've just added a few things like the extra cheeses, vegetables, more seasonings and the bread crumb topping. (used with my delicious stuffed mushrooms)

plan on making some home made mac n cheese tomorrow again - your recipe looks tasty. gonna have to try adding some beer to it. im thinking a darker beer would go well with the cheese. might have to find a stout to throw in. also might have to thaw out some bacon. havent decided if i want to make bacon mac n cheese or hamburger/italian sausage

Okay Paula Deen.

Never tried hers, I'll have to look it up. & hopefully she comes back, love her. Total bs, but that's a different forum.

It's more like a Sandra Lee's Semi-homemade recipe. Part off of a can, and the rest you make fit with your taste and cooking style.
