So my family makes a delicious spicy pickle. We know nothing about marketing them though.
She sells them to her friends for $5 a jar, but were ISO information on marketing them to the public.
Anyone know what we need to have legally? Like a label etc.?

if u do it legally they will make u pay taxes out the ass imo.

just sell it illegally to all your friends or maybe sell it in large quantities to a bigger company and such. cause i dont know anyone who really eats spicey pickles tbh.

ive had spicy pickles. good stuff. there used to be a place in the mall near us when i was younger that sold all different sorts of pickles, spicy included.

as far as marketing them, it highly depends where youre located. legal issues can vary widely state by state. my mom used to have a licensed home bakery when we lived in CT, but when we moved to FL the regulations down there were too much of a PITA to meet, so she ended up not doing it anymore. unless youre willing to go deep on meeting regulations and equipment for bottlling/labeling, etc, its probably better to just stick to selling to friends and people you know. if you think theyre just plain awesome and would reallly sell, then look into the local regulations.

So you're looking to sell them to consumers? Or are you wanting to use a retail partner?
