starting with the most recent, last nights dinner was awesome. we started with salads (pictured below) then for the main i made a roast potato medly with yukon gold, red and blue potatoes. with that was pan-seared hangar steak and veal chops, with wine reduction sauce and roast garlic infused oilive oil. forgot to take a pic of those, though, it looked so good we just dug in. tasted as good as it looked, too. my wife was raving about the hangar steak all day today. potatoes were awesome, too, she doesnt usually eat a lot of potatoes, but she ate these up. seasoned with spices, red wine and some fresh cilantro. awesome.

the salad: (mine, anyway.)

romaine, endive, radicchio, daikon, persian cuke, red/yellow grape tomatoes, caesar dressing.

yesterday, i decided to foray into making sorbet, so i made celery and apple sorbets and layered them with some filbert nut ice cream (made that, too) in the middle to create a waldorf salad sorbet. almost everyone who tried it loved it. the only one who didnt was my wife, she said the celery was a little too weird for her.

also made napoleons a couple weeks ago. ive made them before (600 portions) but last time i used regular custard, this time i picked up some gelatin so i could make diplomat cream. came out delicious, and i used extra puff pastry to make some chocolate danishes. yum.

(forgot to take pic before i started cutting it.)

Too bad you don't have a picture of the steak and potatoes. Was looking forward to seeing that the most, lol. The salad looks so fresh and yummy. I absolutely adore radicchio, but my husband doesn't like it. So, most of my salads have to go without it.

Now I'm hungry. =-\

Had myself a steak dinner, split up the salads, and stole your tomato idea. =-P
