take the egg, and on a solid surface such as a counter top, roll it with the palm of your hand firmly. it'll help crack the shell and push it off the ends. so just peel it off and it should be easy.

also chiling the eggs first, i know that i prefer my boiled eggs warm, but, the best way to crack them is what i mentioned before, and having them chilled a bit first.

Add a bit of vinegar to the water. Helps to dissolve the membrane between the shell and the egg allowing the shell to come off in a few larger pieces. Also do NOT overcook the eggs, they'll be impossible to shell if you do.

have you tried that? cause one place i worked the head chef told me to "cook the shit out of em", like for an extra half hour, and that seemed to work pretty well.

the best thing ive found though is adding tons of salt to the water.

Yes I have tried it many times, always worked out well for me. I'm assuming there's 2 ways to do it, I always medium boil my eggs because I usually use them for potato salad or something similar, and having the yolk a bit runny makes for a better salad. Kinda hard to cook the shit outta them if you're going for medium boiled eggs.

And yeah I always salt the water for pretty much anything that I boil.

yeah, it wont work for lower donenesses, but for hard boiled it seems to work well, especially with well-salted water.
