wanted to try out fish n chips, but with salmon. came. out. awesome. sooo moist and delicious. originally i was gonna just do a basic batter, but we didnt have seltzer at work so i used soda instead. tried it twice, once with 7-up and once with ginger ale. i think i liked the 7-up better, although both were good. i was gonna bring some wasabi powder from home today to add also, cause i figured that would be good in it as well, but i forgot. oh well.

the batter was flour, chili powder, ground thyme, salt, white pepper, onion powder, baking powder, 7-up

yum.

I suck at frying fish. Tried to do fish and chips for my husband before, but the batter basically just came off in the oil..

Frying is the one thing I almost never do, so my skills are low in that area, lol.

Too many fish, not even chips.

And the chips look too thick cut.

you probably didnt roll the fish in flour first. doing that helps the batter stick on better, it gives it something to stick to.

theres plenty of chips, theyre just hidden under the fish. if i had my way i wouldve used a much larger plate so i could spread the fish out a bit more, but those are all we have. chips werent so thick, i think its just the one youre seeing is one from the edge.
