Hi guys, once a week I cook for a party of 12, and have a $150 budget. I've been going strong for several months, but I'd like to see if this community has anything up their sleeves to offer. I have around a 6 hour prep time.

Thanks! :)

it would be good if you said what sort of stuff youve done til now. thatll give an idea of your skills and what youve done already, to avoid suggestions of the same things.

I'd rather just have people post suggestions, if something is too difficult for me (which isn't possible within my budget I promise you), or if I've done it a lot before, the worst that will happen is that I just won't use it.

Pulled Pork BBQ with sweet Baby rays.

id pick up like 4-5 packs of allready cooked carnitas from costco, thaw them in a microwave, clean off the fat, pull them apart, put them in a slow cooker, douse them in sweet baby rays bbq sauce, add brown sugar, mustard, vinigar, and ketchup to taste staying easy on the mustard and vinigar, then let cook on med-high in the slow cooker for 2-5 hours.

then for side dishes, id probly start with some italian pasta salad, marironi salad, or potatosalad, then with the meal baked beans, and perhaps boil up some fresh corn from a local produce stand. with cookies or brownies for desert.

for drinks maybe make up some fresh mojitos, buy mint leaves from grocery store unless you grow mint +2 table spoons sugar, crush sugar and mint in bowl, add minute maid lime aid + 2 of the Minute Maid containers of water, add non spiced rum + water to taste.

well everything cept the mojita seems like it would work.

some mint tea would work instead, id buy a pack or 2 of spear mint (unless you grow your own apple or spearment) from the store, brew that up with some liptons tea id brew them up separately and mix them at a 1 part mint :2 or 3 parts liptons ratio then add some sugar, oj conc, lemon juice/lemon conc, and ice stir it up then add more oj con/lemon juice conc to taste.

you can also try pouring up a small glass of the final tea and see if you like how it tastes with alittle cran juice added to it. then if you like it add some to the rest of the tea.

i can give you a good recipie for potato salad and crunchy chocolate chip cookies, just let me know.

box mix for brownies bushes baked beans for the beans, check the containers for peanut warnings same with bbq sauce and carnitas and anything else you buy.
