I microwaved it for 1:45 to get it hot for hot chocolate

ofc it's ok. Sooo many parents nuke their kids milk. It's safe.

But if you heat it too much, then some of the protein in the milk denatures, leaving some residue. It's inconvenient, but it's not harmful.

best way to heat milk is to steam it
take a pot and fill it like 1/4 full
place a strainer above it and wait for it to start to boil
put desired amount of milk in a coffer mug and place on strainer
should take about 5-10 mins
