Any fan here ?
I am myself a huge fan of thai food especially from the south where its a bit more spicy than the north. I love curry with coconut sauce and also Pad thai.

Actually I try to improve my thai receipe so if you have any tips to add feel free.

cheers !

you both need to expand your thai food horizons...those are very north american dishes.

don't get me wrong I love those dishes too and thai food in general

Tylenol is actually right... while pad thai is actually thai, it's not really a common meal locals will have there. It's mostly made for foreigners. There is SO much more to thai cooking then pad thai and coconut milk curry.. those are mainly meals for tourists.
The proof is if you eat by big touristic places (palaces in bkk etc) you will find pad thai stall everywhere... But if you go where no tourists go, small places and such, wild markets in small town, you most likely won't see any around...

you wrong.
Pad thai is all around the place. Ive been in Ubon Ratchatani on mekong river and found Pad thai in the middle of the forest.
the background start just after the recession followed the ww2. Thai government wanted to reduce the rice consumption so they created rice noodle which was way cheaper and the Pad thai meal became one of the most popular meal in the whole country.

But yes, Pad thai and curry dishes are ones of the most popular stuff outside thailand as well

I'm actually not a fan of Thai food. I do love Pad See Yue or however you spell it.

I prefer Indian curry over Thai curry.
